　　An appendix: the conference summary on the usage of the ether and the light hydrocarbon used in the city.

The appendix:

　　The City Construction department of Construction Ministry held a discussion on ether and hydrocarbon using as the burning gas in the city on Mar.2 2006. The conference heard the opinion from the report named light hydrocarbon fuel for civil use and some related technology request written by Professor ZhangRonglin and the prospects of ether exploitation and application by Professor ChenweiGuo and the instructions about light hydrocarbon application and thepractice and discussion of the town burning gas, the technology and management of cold-made light hydrocarbon used as burning gas in the city, and the application practice and the prospects of ether. They organized people to visit the working condition of the burning coal and burning gas boiler transformed under the principle of producing gas though making bubbles by light hydrocarbon in Beijing Aidi international school. They had a full discussion as follows:

　　1) The market reorganization of the burning gas obtained great achievement. In the early 90s, in order to buffer the lack of the energy resources, people in the city and country made use of the alkane, which contains mainly C5 and C6 from oil and gas fields and oil refineries one after another as the main fuel, producing burning gas mixed with air, for the residents, restaurants, and boilers. But a series conflagrations and explosions took place at that time because of the Immature technology, with the problems of safety, sanitation, and fire prevention. In the year of 1995, a notice was sent by the fire bureau, Ministry of Public Security, the former labor boiler pressure container supervision department and city construction Ministry, which made the definite regulations on engaging in the new type of complex fuel supply conditions. It took the positive effect in standardization fitting the fuel use safety management. Simultaneously, it also promoted the progress of the light hydrocarbon with air burning gas technique and improved the level of the management.

　　2) It agrees on the policy of national energy source using to develop light hydrocarbon burning gas which is a technology in “ government encourages to develop the technology which contains two objects of resource colligation using and environment protection”, published in Oct. 2005 by the national invention committee, the science and technology section, and the environmental protection department. And it should be paid more active supports.

　　3) In the past 20 years, the technology of light hydrocarbon mixed with air has become more and more mature. At present, there are two mainly forms to make gas during the light hydrocarbon mixed with air production, and they are rousing bubbles and heating gasified mixed air. It works well according to 200 gas supply stations and nearly ten thousand tons of light hydrocarbon fuel consumed per year. And it also accumulated the experiences for the construction, operation, and management of the light hydrocarbon burning gas supply.

　　4) Light hydrocarbon mixed with air burning gas should be used in the cities with the proper conditions. The system has an advantageous position in little investment, short cycle, flexible station place, and small measure of area. Nevertheless, considering the requirement of reliable, safe, and environment protected supply in the city, we should meet the needs as follows:

　　1. The origin of the light hydrocarbon burning gas should be elements relative stable (Especially the content of alkenes and impurities should be limited.) and constant supplied. And their numbers should meet the needs.

　　2.It should have stable and reliable facilities for storing and transporting. The storing ability should meet the needs of transformation climax and gas supply safety.

　　3.It should have the reliable gas-making techniques and adjusting method to guarantee the gas quality. (Especially the temperate of the shown point.)

　　4.Light hydrocarbon mixed with air burning gas, the item, should be conformed to the local burning plans and the requirements provided by the fire controlling. And it is examined and approved according to the related patterns after the discussion by the experts in the burning gas superintend department.
